Van de Groep & Olsthoorn processes personal data of candidates and relationships with great care and strict confidentiality, in line with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Collection, Processing, and Use of Personal Data

Van de Groep & Olsthoorn collects personal data only to the extent necessary for carrying out its assignments: finding candidates for job vacancies. Personal data may involve both potential and current candidates for a position, as well as business relations at Van de Groep & Olsthoorn.

Processed personal data includes, among other things, information from resumes, emails or letters, name and address details, date of birth, education, current and previous positions, salary information, and interview notes made by consultants.

Van de Groep & Olsthoorn may use the personal data available to them by sending messages via post, telephone, or email, or by contacting individuals personally:

  • To inform candidates about and invite them to events,
  • To inform candidates about current positions,
  • To send newsletters and/or press releases to candidates,
  • To congratulate candidates on a new position,
  • To consult candidates due to their specific expertise,
  • To maintain relationships with candidates,
  • To keep business relations informed of news and developments. Individuals can always unsubscribe from receiving messages or indicate they no longer wish to maintain contact.

Retention Period of Personal Data

When a candidate registers with Van de Groep & Olsthoorn, it generally begins a long-term relationship. Since candidates do not change jobs every year, personal data will need to be available for a longer period.

Van de Groep & Olsthoorn handles personal data with care and stores this data securely, until a request is received from the data subject to erase the personal data or when Van de Groep & Olsthoorn decides to remove this personal data from its files. Data subjects are informed about the erasure of personal data.

Security of Personal Data

Employees of Van de Groep & Olsthoorn take optimal care of the personal data under their management and have a duty of confidentiality regarding confidential information entrusted to them by clients or candidates.

Van de Groep & Olsthoorn uses technical and organizational security measures to protect the personal data we process as effectively as possible against intrusion. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological (ICT) developments.

In the event of a data breach, affected individuals will be informed, and a report will be made to the designated authorities.

Right to Access

Individuals whose personal data is processed have the right to access the personal data we process about them.

Right to Rectification or Erasure

If an individual’s personal data is incorrect or has changed, Van de Groep & Olsthoorn will correct this upon request.

If an individual indicates that they wish to be erased, Van de Groep & Olsthoorn will remove them from all files. Data subjects are informed of this.

Withdrawal of Consent, Right to Object, Restriction, and Portability

Individuals may object to the processing of their personal data. Individuals have the right to restrict processing and to the portability of their stored personal data to an affiliated party or processor.
