Our client, Royal Huisman, established in 1884, is globally recognized as a leading and multiple award-winning builder of some of the finest superyachts in the world. Royal Huisman fulfills clients’ dreams by creating unique yachts, ranging from classic to highly advanced, from motor yachts to fully rigged schooners. The Royal Huisman shipyard in Vollenhove builds (motor)yachts up to a length of 90 meters. The Royal Huisman team consists of over 350 staff and numerous temporary workers from various nationalities, all sharing the same passion for perfection.
Royal Huisman continues the same standards of expertise and craftsmanship at their specialized shipyard in Zaandam, known as Huisfit (45 fte). This facility offers major maintenance, restorations, and modifications to yachts through comprehensive “refit”, “rebuild”, or “renewal” services. The range is extensive: from classification-dependent refits and maintenance to redesigning and refurbishing superyacht interiors. The Huisfit team understands that each refit has specific requirements in terms of infrastructure, specialized skills, equipment, and available time slots to meet the yacht’s schedule: expertise à la carte. Huisfit projects also benefit from the extensive and renowned in-house design and engineering expertise of Royal Huisman Vollenhove and its sister company, Rondal.
Royal Huisman’s organization is currently experiencing significant growth in both prestigious and complex new construction projects and refits. As a result, we are looking for a Sales Director Huisfit.
The position
As the new Sales Director Huisfit, you will play a crucial role in selling Huisfit services and securing new orders. This position places you at the center of a dynamic market where you directly interact with a diverse array of stakeholders such as clients, their representatives, architects, and crew members. In addition to forging long-term relationships with clients, active prospecting and identifying new opportunities in the superyacht market are among your daily tasks.
You are responsible for presenting quotes and negotiating contract terms. You will provide continuous input to further optimize and expand the Huisfit services. Working alongside the marketing department, you will strengthen the Huisfit brand, including visits to global locations, and represent Royal Huisman at international superyacht events and fairs. Additionally, you will lead the Huisfit Sales team and support ongoing projects by being the point of contact for all stakeholders. As a Sales Director Huisfit you are a member of the Management Team of Huisfit.
Your profile
You possess strong commercial and entrepreneurial skills with a keen eye for identifying business opportunities. You have solid technical knowledge at a minimum of bachelor’s level (in Naval Architecture or Mechanical Engineering), complemented by experience in the superyacht sector. You have independently built your own broad network in this sector.
You are a dynamic and hands-on personality, fluent in English, both spoken and written. Proficiency in additional languages is a plus. You have extensive experience (at least 5 years) in a sales role within a project-driven environment and reside in the Zaandam region (Netherlands). Alternatively, you may live in the Mediterranean Sea area and your presence in Zaandam will be required at least once a month.
