In Europe they have 8 factories (France (3), Spain (2), Germany (1), Netherlands (1) and Estonia(1). One of their state of the art factories is located in Emst near Apeldoorn. Plant Manager

In this position, you will set your own ambitious targets for the European cotton market and increase Lemoine’s competitiveness. The Lemoine factory in Emst went through different stages of production. To change and increase the output, they need a plant manager who will fine tune operational excellence to increase efficiency. This might also result in cost-reducing initiatives. You will carry full responsibility for Lemoine’s Emst site with state-of-the-art machinery and equipment. You are tasked with driving this site to a master level. You understand the importance of the Dutch facility (Lemoine Holland) relative to Lemoine Group as a whole, act decisively and control the plant based on information already available to you. If a collaboration is profitable to the Emst facility, but hurts Lemoine’s overall balance sheet, you can firmly inform relevant stakeholders on its benefits and limitations. The plant’s performance management is part of group objectives as well. You will manage 4/6 managers and 2 site coordinators as direct reports. The plant employs approximately 150 employees in 5 shifts. Furthermore, you report directly to the Group COO. You have a strong focus on leadership and management with a sharp eye on root cause management, quality and cost efficiency.Additional tasks and responsibilities for the Plant Manager include:

  • Managing employees by creating a motivating framework with a view to continuous development and improvement
  • Drafting tactical and operational plans and co-assessing and coordinating these plans in financial and organizational terms in such a way that an optimal contribution is made to the implementation of the business plan and to the realization of the budgetary targets
  • Coordinating and supervising the activities to be performed by the managers of the department to achieve optimal coordination between these different departments
  • Ensuring the deployment of machines, raw and auxiliary raw materials, in order that effective and efficient implementation is guaranteed
  • Ensuring that all processes can be realized according to the given qualitative and quantitative specifications, adjusting the production process in the event of deviations
  • Following and implementing developments in products and processes
  • External contact with suppliers and experts
  • Internal contact (daily) with management, coordinators, team leaders, technical managers, other company officials and the executive committee
  • Responsible for the safety issues on the plant and work closely with the global HSEQ director.

With a proven track record in managing a team of operations professionals, including P&L responsibility. He/She has to be confident, stress-resistant, agile, and flexible to be successful in this job. Experience in family business is a plus as well as a cost killer mindset.

Competences:

  • Completed Bachelor or Master degree, with an emphasis on Operations, Business Management or Engineering.
  • A minimum of 8 years of proven success in managing plant operations in a manufacturing organization.
  • A strong personality and having a natural predominance
  • Firm & decisive with the right communication skills
  • You are purposeful, pragmatic, no nonsense, enthusiastic, assertive, and communicative / approachable.
  • Intercompany politics excites you
  • You have a keen eye for root cause analysis, cost-effective and efficiency-improving measures
  • Business fluency in Dutch & English is required, French is a big plus
  • Lives maximum 45 minutes’ drive from home to Emst.
