DMT was founded in 1987. DMT is an engineering and project management company, specialized in biogas treatment technologies. DMT was the first company to use membrane technology for the CO2 removal from biogas to produce biomethane. Over the past 10 years, biogas upgrading has become DMT’s key technology, making DMT one of the leading suppliers of biogas upgrade facilities in both Europe and North America. DMT also offers Carbon Capture and Utilization (CCU) technology, which is increasingly used to capture the CO2 at biogas facilities to create additional revenues for biogas projects. Next to its project sales, DMT has a growing services business including operating and maintenance of biogas treatment facilities. With its technologies DMT is making a key contribution to the transition from fossil to renewable fuels.
Annualized sales are currently approximately EUR 50 million and rapidly growing. DMT currently employs ~85 FTE. DMT’s main office is in Joure, however biogas projects are spread over Europe and North America. DMT was acquired by Broadview Energy Solutions in May 2021 as it recognized the growing demand for biomethane to renewable fuel and CO2 reduction criteria in the transport sector. To accelerate DMT’s growth, Broadview provided required working capital and helped with the professionalization of the company. DMT standardized its technology, improved work processes, developed CCU and Liquid Bio Gas technologies, and hired key new staff including a CTO and a CFO. As a result, DMT has more than doubled its sales over the past two years and has become EBITDA positive.
This process of professionalization and growth, however, is still far from complete and needs to continue. This includes further improvement of safety culture as well as quality assurance, strengthening the North American as well as the services business, further technology improvement, and broadening DMT’s market presence. If DMT manages to further secure its position as a leading supplier of biogas treatment units, it will be able to double its sales again in the coming 2-3 years.In order to support this ambition, the organization will be strengthened by introducing a new CEO.
The position
The CEO joins at a moment of further expansion and professionalization for DMT. The impact which the new CEO can make is significant. The CEO we are looking for is a strong leader with proven experience in leading an engineering and project management business, who will take decisions and drive the identified strategy. The new CEO should have clear affinity with engineering and project management and a key interest in the development of renewable energy. He/She will work closely together with DMT’s management team as well as with Broadview, based on a relationship of mutual trust. This requires a transparent approach to conducting business and an open character.
DMT is well placed to further secure its position as a leading supplier of biogas treatment equipment and double its sales to EUR 100 million/a. The new CEO will further professionalize the current organization in line with best practices in terms of safety, product quality, reliability, cost competitiveness and technical know-how. Furthermore, he/she is expected to expand DMT for instance through building relationships with large anchor customers, realizing better sales coverage in new markets and closing strategic partnerships with complementary product or solution providers.
Your profile
You have a completed Master’s Degree in Engineering, Economics or Business Administration. You have 15-20 years of experience in mid/large scale, reputable multinational(s), and a proven track record in general and operations management.
We are searching for a balanced leader with international experience, a drive to win, and the capability to motivate people. You should have a natural appetite to dig deep when required. Given the current context of DMT and the ambition for the future we are looking for an individual with a proven track record in natural leadership ability and high social competence. The new CEO should be a team player and have a good understanding of engineering and project management as well as operational services. He/She will play an important role in customer relationship building and final project and price negotiations.You have a high professional and ethical standard and are mature, open, transparent, and capable of reflecting, learn, and take feedback. You are results oriented, hands-on, stress-resistant, fast, and flexible. Excellent command of both written and spoken English is required. Regular travel to the other offices in Venray and the US, as well as visiting customers and suppliers, is part of your job. However, Joure in the Netherlands is your base location.
