Our principal nkt cables GmbH is a company with international operations and customer contacts thoughout the world. With over 600 employees at the site in Cologne, they develop, produce, plan projects and sell innovative products in the field of power transmission cables.
As a rapidly growing company seeking reinforcements for its Cologne site, we are looking for a purchasing officer civil & electrical works.
FUNCTIE
In this position you report to the head of purchasing. You are working in a team of 4 purchasers. As purchasing officer civil & electrical works. Your tasks will be:
• consist of commercial processing, coordinating and executing purchasing transactions, supervising procurement projects for civil and electrical works for international project business;
• organizing tenders and enquiries, evaluating offers, negotiating orders and contract awarding decisions;
• drafting contracts;
• claims management with subcontractors;
• assistance in structuring and compiling specifications;
• developing and implementing standards for the management of tenders and contracts.
WIE ZOEKEN WE
Your qualifications are:
• graduate engineer specialized in underground construction with good commercial knowledge, graduate industrial engineer, graduate in business administration/business economics with good technical knowledge;
• relevant skills as a purchasing officer with experience of independently executing complex procurement projects in the international turn-key business (including laying cables onshore and offshore);
• quick to grasp the essentials, broad understanding of processes and a pronounced team player;
• excellent communication and negotiation skills, good powers of persuasion;
• good knowledge of contractual law;
• business fluent in German and English, verbally and in writing, further languages will be an asset;
• very good knowledge of MS Office and fundamental knowledge of SAP/R3.
