Our client is a worldwide leading supplier of maritime systems and components in the field of work boats and special purpose vessels. Our client has several offices in Europe and the Far East and has a worldwide network of agents.
The company has a growing order portfolio. According to the expectations the turnover will strongly increase the coming years. At present we are in search of an ambitious Director Engineering.
FUNCTIE
The Director Engineering reports directly to the responsible board member and is in charge of the organization and management of the Engineering Department consisting of approximately 50 employees of which 4 report directly.

We would like to get in touch with an entrepreneurial and ambitious candidate with higher education+/ academic background who has broad experience in an international and related position. This means you have a clear affinity to technology, engineering and product development environments for example in the areas of ship design, offshore unit design, equipment design and shipbuilding.
You have a strategic mind and you never lose track of the situation. You have excellent negotiating and communicative skills, at all levels, strong leadership style. You evidently have experience at an executive level in a similar setting. The Director Engineering knows how to create support for his or her decisions on the basis of mutual contributions and trust. Shows to be decisive and persuasive, if necessary. Knows how to express his or her ideas on this clearly and how to propagate these. A person with charisma. A recognizable team builder. A good observer and listener. Knows how to separate main issues from side issues and how to set the right priorities. Delegating comes natural to you. You are a distinguishably initiating and stimulating “people’s” manager who is well aware of the fact that, for all the technology, it always involves processes controlled by employees.
Besides your mother tongue you are fluent in English (speaking and writing). Additional language skills are preferred.
