RICK ASSEN
Consultant
After completion of his Personnel and Organization studies at the University of Professional Education, Rick Assen (1970) has built up a versatile career. He held various positions as P&O Manager at industrial companies; he worked as an interim manager for a few years; and he was location manager at a secondment organization for engineers. In the meantime, Rick has also been very active in terms of study. He attended the HRM-Partner in Business training at SIOO and he soon hopes to complete his Business Administration studies at university.
Since Rick, as a P&O manager, has experience in the role as a client and has also worked as a manager at an agency, he is perfectly able to get in the minds of both types of managers. Rick has a great interest in the more organizational questions involving the use of the talent and know-how of employees in a labor market that is getting tighter. For when you attract the right people, you can realize a distinctive, competitive advantage. Talented technicians and the right managers are still hard to find, however.
Rick: “Making the right match is a real challenge for me. I do not believe in a 100% match, but more in an 85-95% match. Candidates who can still grow in a new environment are better motivated to succeed in their new positions; they still have to make that extra effort. “
